Inman Gallery is pleased to present A Storm Held Still, showcasing work by Erika Blumenfed, MJ Daines, Demetrius Oliver, Robert Ruello, Sajeela Siddiq, and Carl Suddath, on view July 18 - August 29, 2026. Please join us for an Artist-led Exhibition Walkthrough on Saturday, July 25 at 1pm featuring Blumenfeld, Daines and Ruello; and Saturday, August 22 at 1pm featuring Oliver, Siddiq, and Suddath.
Exploring abstraction across drawing, photography, painting, and textile sculpture, A Storm Held Still offers diverse mediations on atmosphere and perception. A sense of deep, layered space is shared across several works, from the cosmic pull of Blumenfeld photographs to the dense mark-making of Siddiq drawings, to the portals of Ruello's paintings. Equally present is the permeability between two-and-three-dimensions: the folded sculpture of Suddath's works on paper, the shifting patterns of Dains' suspended textiles, and the illusionary quality of Oliver's spray enamels. Vibrant yet ethereal, the exhibition conjures a sense of controlled chaos, a reminder of forces larger than our own easing us into the humming stillness of the present moment.
