Untitled Houston 2026: JooYoung Choi

George R. Brown Convention Center, October 1 - 4, 2026
Booth A5

Inman Gallery is pleased to return to Untitled Art, Houston, taking place October 1-4, with a solo booth of new and recent work by Houston-based artist JooYoung Choi.

Astro-futurist world builder JooYoung Choi (b. 1982, Seoul, South Korea) documents the interconnecting narratives of a highly structured, expansive fictional land called the Cosmic Womb. Choi's complex and thoughtful interdisciplinary projects merge the autobiographic with the fantastic to form a dynamic, heartfelt, and imaginative aesthetic practice. Guided by this narrative, Choi explores themes such as anti-racism, gender inclusivity, trans-racial adoptee rights, post-traumatic growth, and spirituality rooted in social justice.

Inman Gallery's Untitled Art presentation introduces audiences to the Cosmic Womb through new and early paintings, with a focus on the character arc of Nina Blue, known as Quantum Soup Surfer. Choi's soft sculpture, WE CAN MAKE IT IF WE TRY, depicting characters Poundcake Man and his daughter Emma Poundcake Girl, compliments the booth and is installed in the Special Projects Sector.

Untitled Art will take place at the George R Brown Convention Center in downtown Houston. For more information and fair programming, see their website.
